Delivery Receiving and Offsite Pickup

Since 2009, Heights Interfaith Ministries Food Pantry has worked in our community to reduce food insecurity. The Pantry serves families across Houston and distributes pantry staples, fresh produce, eggs, basic toiletries and more on Thursdays from 4 to 6 PM and Saturdays from 10 AM to 12 PM. We are 100% funded by donations, 100% volunteer-run, and guided and supported by several Houston Heights area churches.

There are a number of jobs that are spontaneous and require flexibility due to the nature of the job. (1) We receive pallets of food from the Houston Food Bank on specific days, and the delivery time varies, within a 3 hour window. We send a text when the food arrives. (2) We have weekly and monthly pickup assignments from local stores who donate goods to the pantry. The assignments are at Aldi's, Kroger, Kolache Shop and Panera Bread. On designated days, a volunteer will make the pickup and deliver it to the pantry.
